Since late in the Nineteen-forties, Roger has been involved in Clinton County Fair activities. As a young boy, he joined the Union Livewires 4-H Club with a cattle project, and then became a leader of the club with Marvin Peterson. In 1993 he was recognized in Columbus for 35 years of 4-H Volunteer Leadership.
For many years in the spring and summer activities of the Bennett Family revolved around 4-H projects for the Clinton County and Ohio State Fairs. Wife, Sue Anne was a leader for a cooking club; daughter, Teri was in the cooking club and showed sheep. Roger conducted 4-H Livestock Auctions with Darbyshire and Associates for thirty-three years, and the auction fee from the Clinton County Fair was always donated back to 4-H.
For many years Roger was secretary/treasurer of the Clinton County Implement Dealers. This organization sponsored activities at the Clinton County Fair such as entertainment ad tractor pulls, and near the end of each summer held a farm machinery auction at the fair grounds. This traditional sale continues today.
Roger was on the Ohio 4-H Foundation Board at Ohio State University for two terms and is presently a member of the Clinton County 4-H Endowment Fund.
At the present time, he sells real estate, auctions and farms.
